The Role
The Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) Officer is responsible for ensuring the achievement of SHE goals and objectives for the site.

Reporting to the Quality & Compliance Manager your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring compliance with Environmental and Safety Legislation, Regulations, Standards and Codes of Practice and internal company policies,
  • Managing Safety and Environmental Management Systems and ensuring compliance with the requirements of AS/NZ 4801(ISO 45001) and (ISO 14001)
  • Supporting and advising Management and employees on best practice techniques related to SHE matters throughout the site,
  • Managing occupational health and regular worker medical examinations,
  • Managing sustainability initiatives in line with site targets,
  • Coordinating training and education of SHE requirements to all staff,
  • Developing and maintaining SHE policies and procedures for the site in accordance with Company and legislative requirements,
  • Ensuring compliance with the existing EPA licences and permits associated with trade waste, dangerous goods storage and emission controls.
  • SHE performance reporting

About You
Our ideal applicant will possess previous experience in a similar position within a manufacturing environment and will be proactive, flexible and results driven.
Other required skills, experience and attributes include:

  • Sound knowledge of SHE legislation
  • Exceptional communication skills together with a high level of initiative and strong attention to detail
  • The ability to work collaboratively and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Qualification in Workplace Safety & Environmental Management
  • Internal auditor qualification and previous experience using Skytrust will be highly regarded
  • The ability to obtain NV1 Defence Clearance (Must be an Australian Citizen)
